Today was the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival parade.

Nico was left home this evening and gave me this look of disdain when we returned, and I snapped his photo.

The theme for this year’s Saranac Lake Winter Carnival is Creepy Carnival.

I’m very grateful to have this cute little face in my life.

The last two mornings have been chilly, so I’ve forgone walking Nico early in the morning.

When I look at images like the one below, I can’t help but reflect on my journey as a photographer.

Nico and I went on a 2-mile bushwhacking adventure this afternoon.

Today was the first big day of the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival.

Sometimes, when I get home, Nico gets inspired to start chewing his bone.

We’ve been on quite the journey with Nico.

The deer have been digging through the snow in our yard to go after moss and other things buried beneath.

This is Nico telling me to quit working and play with him.

All cozy and ready for a snooze.

The snow froze overnight, meaning Nico broke through a thick crust as he walked around the yard.

Nico enjoyed a bit of time running through the woods this morning.

All I need to say to describe this photo is “squeaky toy.”

Apparently, Nico wanted a profile portrait this evening; he refused to look directly at the camera.

Nico loves a good game of tug. Recently, we’ve been working on sharpening up his “out” command.

With the return of milder temperatures, Nico could spend more time outside.
