Day 872

Nico spent the day home alone while I was off collecting water samples and other data on a pair of ponds outside of Saranac Lake. If he were better in a canoe, he could have come along. I’ve tried explaining this to him, but the language barrier is hard to overcome. Khyber started going out into the field with me two months after I rescued him. He was the first dog in our research lab allowed to go on multi-week expeditions to remote places across Canada. Since then, other dogs have followed in his paw prints. Nico wants to always be on the move and has a really hard time understanding that sitting, let alone laying, still in a canoe is necessary.
