Nico has his ears folded back, streamlined for maximum speed. As soon as I utter the word break, he’s off like a flash, chasing after squirrels or checking the property boundary. And as quick as he runs away, he returns. When he comes back into the house, he doesn’t use the front steps; that would be too slow. He flies right over the top of them, landing 10 feet inside the house. If you’re the one holding the door open you better know to stand to the side, or you might end up with a dog crashing into you mid-air.
