Algonquin Peak is the second tallest mountain in New York State and the Adirondack Park. The hike to its summit is 4.3 miles and ascends 2,936 feet, making it a difficult and challenging hike, especially for photography purposes. The summit offers outstanding views of most of the Adirondack High Peaks, as well as good views of the lakes to the west.
