Day 934
When out in the woods with Nico, his tail helps me keep track of him; all I need to look for is the wagging white tip of his tail up in the air.
Day 932
The couch from Nico’s perspective.
Day 933
White stripe.
Day 931
It appears as though winter is on a temporary retreat here in the Adirondacks.
Day 930
Twenty-four hours after arriving home from a family visit with lots of dog friends and this is what Nico looks like. He has been absolutely wiped out all day.
Day 929
It appears as though Cousin Ziggy has usurped Uncle Dickens as Nico’s favorite play friend.
Day 928
We have five dogs at our family Thanksgiving, needless to say, Nico is ecstatic about all of the dog friend time.
Day 927
Nico likes to run through the woods with reckless abandon. Today I saw him jump through, not over, through a downed tree.
Day 926
As soon as I came home from work and flopped down on the couch, Nico curled up right next to me.
Day 925
It’s a lazy day for Nico. He barely got up from his bed in Shelly’s office to greet me when I came home. We’ve all been there.
Day 924
Well, it looks like motorcycle season is over for the year. Nico stood guard in the shed door while I finished winterizing my bike.
Day 923
Nico and I went out this morning for our first ski of the year. We explored several miles of logging roads
Day 922
Apparently, we are continuing with the one-paw-up routine.
Day 921
Sometimes I wonder if a little pointer is buried in Nico’s mutt genes. Or perhaps his paws are just cold.
Day 920
Tonight we had our first heavy snowfall of the season. Nico seemed to enjoy running around in the snow and taking in the change in scenery.
Day 919
Doing one thing but focused on another.
Day 918
I’ve been trying to teach Nico to let me balance a treat on his nose. This is about as far as we can get in terms of staying still and not grabbing at treats when they are close by. Baby steps.
Day 917
Today was the first day of snowing in the Adirondacks this season with big heavy flakes. Nico was having fun trying to lick them out of the air.
Day 916
This is Nico trying real hard to relax in the back of the car. He is generally good with car rides but gets very excited making it hard to relax on longer rides.
Day 915
Sometimes one bone isn’t enough, you need to have a few backups on hand (or paw). Nico’s favorite by far is his Benebone.
