Day 1,393
Nico and I went for a walk along the shore of Lower Saranac Lake this morning. We took a short detour on the ice to check the thickness and assess how fast it was being lost. We measured 8’’ of ice about 50 yards out from the shore. Nico was wary of going out on the ice with me but eventually decided to join. He is a naturally cautious dog in some ways yet throws caution to the wind in others. I’ve been working a lot with him to build his confidence and trust, so when I give him a recall command, he comes despite any hesitation he might have. Sometimes, that means letting him figure things out on his own. In this case, he could have kept running around on land but eventually decided to overcome his fear to see what I was doing.

There are a lot of camera-carrying systems on the market. If you want to attach your camera to a backpack, you’ve likely come across the Peak Design Capture Clip. But there is a lesser-known product out there that is way more versatile: the Ulanzi Falcam system.
