Day 1,305

Today, I decided to embrace the darkness and do a quick photo session with Nico outside using an off-camera flash. It just happened to be lightly snowing outside, allowing me to capture a handful of flakes on his face. I find myself counting down the days to the winter solstice because it marks the end of the loss of light. Given that I prefer to photograph using natural light and outside doing fun stuff with Nico, the darkest days of winter present a challenge to our daily photo series. I’m glad I decided to learn how to work with artificial light a little over a year ago. My Patreon supporters are critical to having the flexibility to purchase additional gear to keep my creative juices flowing—many thanks to those who have chosen to support this work.
