Day 1,295
Nico, Shelly, and I went for a mid-day walk on trails near our house. We typically have the place to ourselves, which is great because Nico can run free. We use this opportunity to practice Nico’s obedience, particularly his recall. I decided to use a rock ledge as the background for this photo. After scoping it out, I recalled Nico, not knowing where he was. He’s good enough that I don’t get worried if he wanders out of sight for a moment. As soon as I called out, “Nico come,” I heard him running above me toward the cliff edge, which was covered in ice. He came to a sliding halt an inch or two from the edge. I was ready to try to catch him, or at least break his fall. Thankfully he was fine and worked his way around the cliff down to me. Shelly was with us and I think she saw Nico’s life flash before her eyes.

There are a lot of camera-carrying systems on the market. If you want to attach your camera to a backpack, you’ve likely come across the Peak Design Capture Clip. But there is a lesser-known product out there that is way more versatile: the Ulanzi Falcam system.
