We refer to this as Nico in periscope mode. He likes to stick his nose up in the air to maximize his ability to assess all the smells. It always makes me smile when he does this because I know he is flexing his talents. You can also tell when a passing scent wafts over him because he’ll immediately point his head straight up in the air, no matter what he is doing. Sometimes, he’ll walk around in this position, trying to hone in on the scent.
