Day 1,031

When Nico has less stimulating days, we sometimes feed him dinner through training or puzzles to give him mental stimulation. Often, he doesn’t register that he has just eaten a cup and a half of kibble and, in the end, looks at us as if to say, “ok, I’m ready for my dinner now.” Tonight he worked on getting kibble out of a towel with a very complicated fold; his nose was going so hard he was snorting like a pig. Then he got the remainder in a Kong with peanut butter plugging the end. During the whole time, we practiced recalling him off both of these items, which he did excellent at.
