Day 1,002

I’ve been doing more fieldwork than normal this month, which means Nico has been as well. He isn’t built for the cold, so I have to be selective on which days he comes out with me. If it’s below 20°F he’ll get chilled quickly when we stop. Today was nice and warm so he joined in on a long day of sampling remote lakes. When we stop to do our work I lay my pack down and he curls right up on it. My colleague even covered him up with his coat to keep him extra warm. Needless to say, both of us will be sleeping well tonight.
