Day 998
Nico is getting just the right angle to extract peanut butter from a Kong. We purchased several Kongs to ensure we always have one on hand that is ready in the freezer stuffed with all the good things. We also purchased a LickiMat which was a hit. We’re making an effort to increase enrichment activities for Nico so his mind is engaged more during the day. We believe that some of the challenges we were facing stemmed from him being bored. He is very attentive and needs lots of stimulation, both mentally and physically. These are easy ways we can give him something to do during the day, especially when our schedules are busy. We’re also making an effort to work at least three ten to fifteen minute training sessions into each day. This evening we worked on impulse control by practicing recalling off food scattered on the ground, as well as staying in his ‘place’ when we open the front door/the door bell rings.
