Day 1,429

Wow, today was simply incredible. Shelly, Nico, a friend, and I paddled out to Bluff Island on Lower Saranac Lake to watch the solar eclipse. We arrived early enough in the morning to enjoy a campfire, cooked hotdogs stuffed with cheddar cheese over the fire, and had an amazing view of the eclipse. Nico thought the whole thing was just wonderful. He got to run through the woods, and by the time the eclipse rolled around, he was passed out on a rock. He did get up and look around during totality. For fun we put a pair of eclipse glasses on him, though I don’t think he ever looked toward the sun. This will certainly be a memorable day in our journey through life with Nic.
